Cedar Ridge Conregational Website

Cedar Ridge seeks to realize the vision of Christ's peace throughout all dimensions of life.  We see our ministries as falling into two major categories:  Healing and Helping.  Our primary mission is in the Healing category. Other areas of ministry may be events or ongoing touch-points within community.

In 2015 Cedar Ridge adopted, as its primary Mission, to help end suffering from human trafficking. We have dubbed this Cedar Ridge mission Shadows Into Light.

Our scriptural connection is Luke 4:18, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free” (NIV).

This Mission is fulfilled largely through End Slavery Tennessee (ESTN)

We believe that Community of Christ’s nine Enduring Principles inspire us for this mission, especially The Worth of All Persons, Grace and Generosity, and Unity in Diversity.

Community of Christ is also a peace church, which recognizes that peace and justice go hand in hand – it is so very difficult to have one without the other.

We invite you to join us in bringing Shadows Into Light, setting the oppressed free, educating the at-risk, and bringing peace to the poor and broken-hearted.

Meals on Wheels – for two decades and running, Cedar Ridge has prepared Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for elderly shut-ins. It has grown nearly every year; in 2015 we prepared more than 500 meals each holiday. We’re honored to support this service to the broader Nashville community.

Yard Share – Cedar Ridge serves its immediate community by giving generously of our own abundance as well as providing a gathering place for local residents to share their own abundance with those in need. Yard Shares are like yard sales but where everything is freely given. Cedar Ridge members and community residents bring their abundance and we host the free exchange.

Trunk or Treat – Cedar Ridge welcomes its immediate community also through an annual Trunk or Treat. Games, sharing treats and stories and ourselves with one another make for great fun!

Crumb Donors – Cedar Ridge supports one of Community of Christ’s most successful outreach ministries, located in the heart of urban Chattanooga. Crumb Donors is an easy way to contribute to Chattanooga ministries and stay connected with that life-changing mission. Donations and requests for the monthly Crumb Donors’ newsletter can be sent to 155 Richland Court, Gallatin, TN 37066.

Priesthood of Cedar Ridge are engaged in various helping ministries, those particular to the priesthood office held, and more general ministries all are called to engage in according to each ones’ response to God’s call.
